This Nicholson’s pub is a perfect example of an unspoiled, opulent Victorian interior. If you haven’t been – you really should see it – quite unique. I was amazed by the glitzy interior but in my humble opinion I felt it, curiously, had no atmosphere to speak of. I’m glad I went, though – a building like this deserves to be seen at least once.
There are loads of user reviews both positive and negative on the internet, and I suggest you read a few of them to make up your own mind.
There was a decent selection of cask beer on. On the day we visited, the following were available:
- SA Gold
- Brentwood Blonde
- Doom Bar
- London pride
- Midnight Bell
- White Horse Bitter
Pubs.com has a good description of the interior.
