Character, atmosphere, great beer
A pub that has more atmosphere and pump-clips to the square inch than you would have thought possible! This pub has so much character – unlike some other London pubs where ostentation appears to come out of a spray can. The pub mood is jolly, upbeat, and convivial.
Getting a seat is going to be your only problem in this tiny award winning pub. There are two rooms, a downstairs bar that has 8 hand pumps and an upstairs lounge.
Multiple award winners including the most prestigious CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2010/2011. They serve a great selection of beer: regular beers include Harvey’s Sussex Best and Sambrook’s Wandle, and ususally at least one beer from Dark Star brewery. In 2011 it won the CAMRA London Cider Pub of the Year 2011 for the quality and range of its real cider and perry.
Food is simple: sausage baguettes, but like everything about this unique pub, they are of top quality and sell out quickly.
You can see why the Harp is so successful. Customer focus, attention to detail and an uncompromising dedication to quality. Surely that’s so simple that everyone should be able to get it!
